I have been so excited to share our little mans nursery with you all. I’ve finally got it exactly how I wanted it and I’m so happy with the result. It looks just how I had it planned in my head if not better. I’ve never had a room to turn into  nursery in the past so I felt very lucky this time around to have had the space to make him his very own room before he arrives.

My theme was very natural and soft, my main idea was the dalmatian wall. I searched high and low for wallpapers and stickers but it was all costing far too much so I decided to paint all the spots on by hand. It is definitely a labour of love so if your thinking of doing this then give yourself enough time. I think I got it done in about four afternoons but it looks so beautiful that it was definitely worth the time. It cost me £5.oo to do the wall with a tin of tester paint from Farrow and Ball – Oxford stone (linked below) rather than the £400 wallpaper I found for the one wall!

The room really isn’t very big at all so I had to work with what I had and choose things I really needed in there. My main focus was the cot the chair and the chest of drawers, once I’d worked out were they all went I could decorate around them.

It was important that I got a chair in the nursery this time as I’ve never had one before and loved the idea of being able to feed him at night without waking up the whole house.

He will obviously be in our room for the first few months but it will be nice to have the room to change him in and sit and feed.

The chest of drawers are perfect if your working with a small space as they are sized quiet small but perfect for a newborn baby clothes. It took me so long to find a reasonably priced  white and wood style set but I finally found this one and fell in love.

the small heart print in the wooden frame, I actually hand painted onto a piece of card with the same paint as i used on the walls. Its a really simple way to fill a frame with nothing too fussy.

I have tried to link everything below but the few things i haven’t linked such as the basket on the floor and the lamp they are from Homesense. I’m sure I’ve linked everything else but if not do let me know in the comments below and ill do my best to get the link for you.

It really does have such a homely feel to it and i hope you love it as much as we do.
